This play is called “the stage with the most startling laugh” by media, and is referred to as “the wonderful night at theatre”. Director HUANG Yanzhuo described it as “it is a love letter to people who love theatre”.
Synopsis
An old deserted theatre carries countless stories of joys and sorrows.
The keeper, who constantly stays in the theatre though over seventy, talks to himself from time to time just like that his old friend.
With different purposes, three geeks visited theatre at night as if expected.
A female doctor of Literature who believes in reincarnation, a mercenary boss of advertising agency (who is mercenary), a taciturn male singer and the keeper, all of them were trapped in this archaic theatre. Oddities occurred one by one, bringing subtle changes to characters.
The embarrassing experience of each player is happy or sad, and it is sad eventually. They all feel strange sadness but do not know the reason.
There are many bursting points in this play. Audience will laugh because of the humourous scenes, and also will weep when touched by tragic scenes. It is a suspense comedy, but not mysterious. With rich and interesting heart, every character is funny and lovely.
